Trip to Boston!

Now that Tray’s birthday is over, I can reveal what the final clue represented. The other clues were also numbers that I knew he wouldn't be able to figure out. I just wanted to drive him crazy for the day. :-)They hinted around more toward the Garden (where the Celtics play), but 0437 was our flight number that left at 7:05 the next morning. After all the hints and the box with the tickets, it still didn’t hit him that we were going to Boston. He just assumed it was for Atlanta since we had talked about going the night before. I believe it was Ben and Eric who asked him if he realized where he was going. Thanks to Christy and Laura taking pictures, I have the exact moment it sunk in.

SURPRISE!!!!
As you can see, he was very shocked. This is something that I had been thinking about for almost a year, but wasn’t sure if I would be able to pull it off. However, I do owe a lot of credit to Kim. I was able to use her mileage for a free ticket and she wanted to do the hotel as her gift. Thank You, Kim!

My whole family knew I was just as excited as he was, if not more. This is OUR team and that may be why I love them so much. It's a team we can both cheer for. No“divided house” here. Below, I’ve posted several pictures from our day. Oh and before I forget, thank you Jennifer for watching our baby!!!(Max) . We received a good report when we returned, and were informed we had a very polite dog. LOL His Nanas did not have to be called one time. :-)

For it to only be one day, it was such an amazing trip. I honestly can’t think of a word that would even come close to describe our experience. It just all happened too fast and we tried to soak up every second!

Oh-I told Tray I had one more surprise for him.

My last surprise

Reading the answers to clues.
Everybody
Tray's Cake
On the plane
Tipoff
Horford and KG
David Ortiz aka "Big Papi"
Two rows behind the bench!!!(our seats)
KG and Bibby
KG almost fell on us!!! (reason for blur)
Marquise Daniels!!! (former AU player)

Look who's turning 30!

Happy 30th Tray!

Yes, the day is finally here and I’ve been counting the days to say that. I tried to tell him as soon as the clock struck 12, but last night I was informed he was going by Oregon’s time since that was where he was born. Whether he wants to deny or delay it any longer, my husband has turned the big 3-0!

Tonight, we will be celebrating with his family at his favorite restaurant, J. Alexanders. I want to make this birthday as special as I can possibly make it. I can’t begin to describe how excited I am about his gift. Since Tray has taken the whole week off and is home today, I have left several clues for him to find and figure out. I know he’s found two, but I hope he’s found the third since it would lead him here for the fourth and final clue.

Clue No. 4: 0437

Tray, you are such a wonderful husband and friend. I hope you continue to enjoy your day at home with our Max. I love you very much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Update from the Beckham's

Wow, I can't believe it's been this long since I last blogged. So much to say so sorry if I begin to ramble. I just get so excited during this time of the year. I'm even more excited now that the NBA is back. Last night the Celtics opened the season against the Cavs, 95-89, Whoo Hoo! Since I can't stand Shaq and Lebron, this was a sweet victory. Thanks to my husband, I'm even doing fantasy basketball this year! I know, I can't believe it either. I still don't know too much about it. I just know when my players score I yell out "Fantasy Points". That's not something you officially do, I just picked up on it when Tray would do it for football and it's kind of become an inside joke. I know that might sound lame for most, but we have so much fun together. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but I can't imagine being with anyone else. He "completes me" LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist. I think I'm still a little hyped up from the big V over the Cavs! Being an AU fan, I haven't had that feeling for a while now. That's okay though, I'm not a closet fan. It's not gonna stop Kim and me from heading down there this Saturday at 7:00 a.m. Eww...that seems even earlier when you see it typed out. Still, I'm looking forward to a little road trip with my big sis!

As this month comes to an end, I have to announce that someone's 30th birthday is rapidly approaching! 15 days to be exact. He seems to be handling it well. He did hurt his ankle pretty bad last week during his basketball game. I don't know if that had anything to do with age or just being out played. Maybe a little of both. As you can see in the pictures, it looks more worse as it heals. I've also posted some pictures of our pumpkin I painted. Tray didn't want to carve it this year. I've also posted more pictures of our Max and some video footage from our new camera.

Day 6

Our Pumpkin

Besides his four favorites (old rope, new rope, skinny bone and other bone), Max has this rope that he managed to pull the knot out so he could eat it, and we've now had to take another toy away from him. But, since he loved it so much, Tray lets him play with it under his supervision. When he's not playing with it, Tray keeps it on our dresser and Max knows exactly where it is. We constantly find him on our bed just staring it. How sad is that?

Before I end this post, I have to give a shout out to Boudreaux! My friend Crystal's adorable chocolate lab. Last week he had to undergo his second surgery in two years. He seems to be doing a lot better, but we still hope and pray that this is it. Max sent him a "Get Well Soon" goody bag to help cheer him up. Crystal said he will not put his little chicken down. Below is a picture that she sent me from her phone.

~BONUS MATERIAL~
Video footage from our new camera. I tried to post the one of Max playing "where's your bone?" but the file was too big. I'll try to do another one later.

Mr. & Mrs. Habshey

It’s official! Eric and Laura tied the knot this weekend. Everything turned out great, Laura looked beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Since this was both Eric and Laura’s second wedding, they wanted to keep the ceremony more intimate by inviting only close friends and family. For everyone else, Bill and Cathy (my in-laws) held a dinner party the night before at their house. The whole setup was really nice. Everyone joked about how they should have just held the ceremony at their house. I’ve posted a few pictures from the party and ceremony below. I just wanted to share with everyone what a great weekend we had and how excited I am for Eric and Laura. I’m sure they’re enjoying their wonderful honeymoon in Jamaica! (So jealous as I type this at work!)

Congratulations Eric and Laura!

Max's First Snow

Since we didn't receive enough snow last year for Max to even notice, today was his first time to see and play in it. He really didn't know what to think at first. After investigating, smelling and us reassuring him it was okay, he then proceeded to eat it. When Tray was throwing snowballs, Max would crush it trying to pick it up like a real ball. It took him a few tries, but he finally figured out how to carry it. While it was still coming down hard, we took Max to the top of the hill to get a good view of all the snow covered rooftops. I've posted a picture along with several more from our day. We had SO much fun playing and watching Max! I think we were in the snow from 730 until 1100. Since it's so rare for us get snow we didn't know how long it would last. We did manage to get a (small) snowman built before it all completely melted.

"Sneaky Max"

Tray and I were thinking the other night about all the "rules" we had for Max when we first moved in. It made us wonder if this is a reflection of what kind of parents we're going to be. I guess you can be the judge.

Rule No. 1 Stay off the couch

Rule No. 2 No Begging!

Rule No. 3 Stay out of our closet

Rule No. 4 Stay off the bed

The look we can't say no to!
